A recount of one of the most shocking days of my life. A tribute to one of my favorite people's favorite person. This piece was also one of my first true attempts at nonfiction writing.

"When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money."

Sure, Satan's the bad guy. ...But what if he wasn't? What if there's more to him than we think? What if he makes the perfect friend for an incredibly lonesome twenty-something?

Jessica has officially fallen for her lifelong best friend, and as fate may have it, he is just as interested. However Jessica has another admirer who's been with her for quite some time...watching from the outside.
This short story was written during my time at Baylor University. It was a change in tone for me at the time, so I hope you enjoy it! ...
